3 Last Minute Mother's Day Gestures

Happy Mother's Day! Have you made any plans to celebrate this special day? If Mother's Day has crept up on you a little unexpectedly this year, do not fear. Whether it's your mum, your grandma or your sister, today I'm sharing 3 thoughtful gestures that will make the day a little extra special for your loved ones.

1. Prepare a lavish breakfast - who doesn't love the smell of freshly ground coffee and pancakes first thing in the morning? As it is Sunday, you have a little extra time to prepare a breakfast feast that any Mum would surely appreciate. Try whipping up my 2 ingredient vegan pancakes (always a winner), grab some pastries from your local bakery or even create a delicious smoothie bowl using this recipe (with a little less liquid for thicker consistency). Get creative with a rainbow of toppings such as shredded coconut, goji berries, chia seeds and chopped nuts to really impress!

2. Fresh flowers - Fresh flowers are a fail-safe option, guaranteed to be greeted with a smile. You might find it difficult to find the perfect bouquet last minute but if you do, you can pretty much crown yourself the favourite child right now and bask in all the glory. If it's a little too last minute, try signing up to a monthly flower subscription service for a gift that keeps on giving!

3. Be present - Mother's Day coincides with Daylight Savings this year which means one extra hour of light in the evenings, hooray! Take advantage of this by taking a relaxed evening walk together, reminiscing on childhood memories and making plans for the future. Sometimes the best memories are made by simply enjoying each other's presence - whether that's having deep meaningful conversations or laughing until you simply can't laugh anymore, am I right?

Have a lovely Sunday, Amy
