Glowing Skin Green Smoothie Recipe
09:30Is eating better one of your New Year's resolutions? Of course it is. Well one of the easiest ways to sneak fresh fruit and veg into your daily routine is to whip up a green smoothie! Not only is it a great way to get in your greens, but it takes just a few short minutes to prepare and makes for the perfect breakfast when you are on-the-go. All you need for my favourite green smoothie recipe is a blender and five simple ingredients.
Spinach is one of my favourite greens because it is mild in taste (unlike it's counterpart kale), but is packed full of Vitamins C, E and A to enhance blood circulation and keep your skin looking beautiful. You might be a little scared of the colour but I promise that you will hardly detect this leafy green in the final product!
I like to add antioxidant-rich berries into the mix as they are also high in skin-boosting vitamins and add a delicious natural sweetness to the recipe to satisfy those pesky sugar cravings. They are known to contain anti-aging properties and are high in fibre to facilitate removal of toxins from the body.
To further add to the skin healing properties of this superfood smoothie, flaxseeds provide a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids which will help to keep your skin well hydrated and smooth throughout the colder months.
Are you ready for glowing skin? Let's get into the recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 large banana
- A handful of berries (blueberries and strawberries are my favourite)
- A handful of baby spinach
- 1 tbsp flaxseeds
- 1/2 cup almond milk
Method
- Add all of the ingredients to your blender and blend until you reach a smooth consistency.
- If it is too thick for your liking, add a little more almond milk or water and blend again.
- Transfer to your favourite jar and enjoy!
Try switching out the flaxseeds for 1 tablespoon of your favourite nut butter for an extra creamy smoothie, yum!

Spinach & banana in smoothies is the best combination! I will definitely try this one tomorrow morning. Also can we just talk about that golden straw for a bit? It looks amazing! Where is it from please? xx
ReplyDeleteI always hesitate when spinach comes to smoothie since I had totally failed my green smoothie before, but this recipe seems like it won't be leafy at the end as you mentioned! And I found keeping my skin glowing during these cold days not that easy, so this is such a lifesaver!! Thanks xx

ReplyDeleteLove this recipe! I definitely agree that spinach is so much better in smoothies than things like kale, I can usually never even taste it.
