Let's Get Festive!

December has arrived! Frosty mornings and festive cheer are just a few things that I love about this month. I'm the type of person who has their Christmas playlist up and ready way ahead of time and I definitely get a little too excited once I spot decorations appearing in stores (I don't think that will ever change haha). Today I'm sharing a festive checklist of things that I do every December to get in the spirit, it's about to get Christmas-yyy in here!

First things first, it's time to get the decorations out of the loft and on display. I absolutely love lighting up the house with Christmas decor, everything just feels so much cosier. I'll admit that kick-starting the season by putting up the tree with friends and family is something that I look forward to months in advance. Christmas pjs, a bit of Michael Buble, Santa hats - all essentials of course.

Christmas would not be Christmas without a trip to the annual Frankfurt markets. Whether it's the humble German Markets in Birmingham or the expansive Winter Wonderland of Hyde park in London, wrapping up warm for an evening stroll and hot tea (or mulled wine if that's your thing) at one of these festive pop-ups is an absolute must and will definitely have you feeling merry. If that doesn't do it, outdoor ice-skating under the sparkling lights of London's Natural History Museum is perhaps one of the most magical winter activities in the city.

When it's too cold to get outside, snuggling up on the sofa with a Christmas film and hot chocolate is the ultimate way to spend an evening. Elf and Home Alone are two all time favourites of mine but with the Christmas 24 channel making a return, you couldn't possibly be short of cheesy festive films to watch this month.

And what's a movie without sweet treats? Although the colder, darker nights may feel a little gloomy at times, it's nothing that a batch of freshly baked cookies cannot solve! I find myself spending more time experimenting and baking at this time of year than any other - though I wouldn't say that I've reached Monica Geller's 'Candy Lady' status just yet.

I cannot believe that we are nearing the end of 2016 already, time is whizzing by! How are your Christmas preparations coming along?
